Dr. Federer has joined Brightwood Animal Hospital effective March 27, 2022 as the new Medical Director. He is excited to embark on this new path and bring his experience to Brightwood. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Federer earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 from the University of Minnesota. Since graduation, he has worked for several years in the areas of general practice, emergency medicine and mobile veterinary care in New York, Connecticut and Ohio. Dr. Federer is passionate about veterinary medicine and embraces the challenge of difficult diagnoses. He continues to pursue whole-heartedly the goal of helping to improve the lives of pets and their owners and is looking forward to getting to know Brightwood’s clients and pets.

He shares a home with his wife, two children and two dogs (Hazel and The Griz). Additionally, Dr. Federer is an avid soccer fan, loves crossword puzzles and the new Wordle, and also enjoys a good documentary.
