Dr. Schaefer is excited to join the Brightwood team as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Schaefer graduated from The Ohio State University College Of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She began her veterinary career in general practice but for the last 8 years has been doing spay/neuter surgeries at a high quality high volume clinic. Her area of interest is surgery and wellness. Dr. Schaefer loves helping you provide the best care for your pet and getting to know her patients. Her favorite surgeries are soft tissue surgeries including spay/neuter, foreign body removal, limb amputations, and bladder stone removal surgeries.

Dr. Schaefer lives with her husband, son, and Boston terrier. In her free time, she runs a non-profit wildlife rescue (Born to Be Wild) caring for orphaned wild mammals. She also loves triathlon and stand up paddleboarding. Dr. Schaefer has completed one ironman- Ironman Wisconsin- and several half Ironman races.
